Ahoy, Geocachers! It’s time to trade your hiking boots for flip-flops and your backpacks for beach bags, because Signal is throwing the ultimate island party in sunny San Diego! Mark your calendars for
Saturday, October 4, 2025, when we transform the city into a tropical geocaching paradise for the

Imagine this: warm ocean breezes, palm trees swaying to island rhythms, and the unmistakable croak of Signal the Frog as he dons his best Hawaiian shirt. We’re celebrating the spirit of geocaching, island style, with a day packed full of fun, adventure, and maybe a coconut or two. Whether you’re a seasoned treasure hunter or a curious newbie, there’s something here for everyone.

So grab your GPS, dust off your skipper’s hat, and pack your best island gear because Signal’s Island is ready to maroon you in geocaching paradise!

What to Expect
We’ve got more fun planned than Gilligan has hats! Here’s a sneak peek at some of the “shore-leave” activities:

Opening & Closing Ceremonies – Signal welcomes you to the island, and then bids you aloha at the end.
​
Island Games – Test your skills with Geo Limbo, Coconut Bowling, and “X Marks the
Spot.” We promise no headhunter attacks!
​
Adventure Labs and GeoArt release -navigate through tropical twists and quirky challenges inspired by your favorite stranded crew.
​
​Meet Signal the Frog – He’s the island’s ultimate Island celebrity, ready for photo ops and maybe a hula dance or two.
​
Creative Cache Display – Show off geocaches so creative even the Professor would be impressed. (No radio made out of coconuts, though.)
​
​Trackables & Pathtag Exchange – Swap treasures like Thurston Howell swaps monocles.
​
Raffles, Prizes, and SWAG – Who doesn’t love free treasure?!

Signal's Island Adventure Lab GeoArt,
At 12 PM, an exciting set of 30 new Adventure Labs will be released, featuring a total of 150 individual stages;
​
this massive series is themed around Gilligan’s Island, with each Lab drawing from the show’s characters, settings, and classic episodes.

Join us for a great time of song and celebration at Ale Tales Taproom at 1520 J Street. Bring your crooner (or croaker) voice and have fun at our karaoke mike-night specifically set up for geocachers.
​
Prizes will be awarded for the best crooner/croaker, as well as other celebratory endeavors.
The location is family friendly.

We'll have a little java / juice while we chat with fellow geocachers, trade stories and trackables. There's plenty of parking and donuts!

BIG NEWS! Tonight... we party like it's our last night stranded on the island!
​
So, before things get shipwreck-level crazy tomorrow, join us for a chill evening as we gather around a cozy island bonfire. There'll be fire (on purpose), snacks (if you bring them), a chance to pick up your registration packet and plenty of time to mingle, relax and pretend we know how to survive without Wi-Fi.

There are places to grab a bite or a cuppa in this charming beach community.
There is an Adventure Lab at the TJ Estuary with some gentle trails and a variety of caches to find.
If you bring your passport you can hop over to the Mexico border for a few quick caches and gain another country souvenir.
